In 2022, EIA-Toronto Chapter partnered with the University of Alberta to design a 61.77 m suspended footbridge. The bridge crosses the Rio Quinamara River and connects two rural communities in Quinamara.
The bridge is located 35 km from Torotoro and has helped 350 residents, with 30 users being children, cross between the two communities. Due to the pandemic, the EIA-Toronto Chapter travel team were unable to assist in the construction of the bridge. However, the bridge was successfully completed by EIA staff, University of Alberta members, and community members!
